I (Liza) was a junior in high school when I came home one day and my mom told me she had found someone to drive me to school. I told my mom that I did not want to drive to school with strangers, that it would be awkward and I'd have my license soon enough - she didn't buy it. At the same time, Will's mom told him he had a new stop to make on the way to school to pick up a girl a couple blocks away. Will wasn't thrilled, but looked up my picture in the yearbook and thought he could be okay with this arrangement.

We grew to be acquaintances throughout the next year of carpool with Will, myself, and 2 of his sisters. The summer after Will graduated he asked me to breakfast and my naïve self thought nothing more of this than a friendly breakfast before he left for college. A quick five hours later and before we knew it the café was closing. Saying goodbye, Will went in for a hug only to be met by my abrupt high five! I turned away happy to have had a free breakfast with great conversation and Will turned away with his head down thinking he'd missed out on an opportunity. But, an uplifting text after Will left for Marquette University said otherwise.

Fast forward through 4 years of long distance and we are now living in Alaska! On May 4th, Will (tried) to trick me into “going to look for whales” off of a beautiful lookout called Beluga Point. He didn’t waste any time getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him! After a few pictures and moments together, he had surprised me with an amazing engagement party with all our Alaskan friends.

We are absolutely loving Alaska so far and have had a blast exploring this beautiful state. We are incredibly thankful for our journey and how God has placed us in each other's lives. We cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together and for YOU to witness the beginning!
